WHO WE ARE

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."
Emma Watts - Creative Director & Founder

The Daisie Chain was created with the purpose to inspire, entertain and bring joy through music and movement to Aged Care and Disability Facilities. Creative Director Emma Watts has a background in music and instructing Zumba Gold. Through running classes in Aged Care & Disability Services, Emma has seen the amazing benefits of music and movement, physically, mentally and emotionally. The Daisie Chain was created to connect staff, service providers, residents, clients and their families. Emma saw a need for more fun and choices for the residents and a solution to the overwhelming task for staff in finding the right entertainers and instructors.

As a young girl, Emma’s beautiful Nan would sing "Daisy Daisy" to her and was always Emma’s biggest fan when it came to her love of music. She would go to all of Emma’s concerts and loved to kick up her heels and have a good sing-a-long.

Emma’s Nan sadly passed away in 2017 having spent a number of years in Aged Care facilities after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Emma's Nan was the inspiration for creating The Daisie Chain. It is about connection, like the flowers in a daisy chain, we connect with people, we connect the dots for facilities looking for the perfect people to run activities. We also connect music and movement with emotions and memories.

  • If I could go to dinner with anybody dead or alive/famous or familiar it would be – Ant Middleton (SAS Aust) Mind vs Muscle.
  • My useless talent - Is any talent useless? – right now its being able to sit in front of a computer with absolutely no answers to this question for an extended length of time.

Judy

I taught high school Business Studies, Geography, Economics for many years but my passion was always fitness. I go to trivia twice every week, volunteer as a Justice of the Peace, love murder mystery podcasts and am a proud new grandma.  I am a Personal Trainer, teach Zumba, Pilates, Chair Yoga, Aqua Aerobics and my favourite classes are Seniors Fitness classes. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone enjoys their classes and that fitness has a positive impact on the health and wellness of my seniors.

  • I’d love to have dinner with Mozart, we share the same birthday but nearly 200 years apart.
  • My useless talent is predicting the weather from isobaric charts.

Hernon

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and arrived in Australia in 1982.  I've pretty much been involved in the arts from birth as my mother was a dancer, teacher and owned a dance school for many years.  My area of expertise is Hip Hop and Urban Latin Dance Instructor and I love how this brings a smile to people's faces, no matter what age!

  • I would love to have dinner my grandfather again or Bob Marley (celebrity)
  • My useless talent is that I can get up from sitting on floor without using my hands.

Johnny V

Johnny V's passion for music is infectious and guaranteed to please! Johnny has been performing for 40 years in all styles of entertainment and musical genres such as cabaret, weddings, parties, corporate events and aged care.  He had chart success in the late 60s, was lead singer of Sons of Beaches (an Aussie Crawl tribute band), had nominations for both Mo and Ace awards and had numerous performances at prestigious events such as Mo Awards, Ace Awards, City to Surf and the Super League Grand Final.  For the last 20 years Johnny has been doing impressions of our favourite music legends Roy Orbison, Rod Stewart, Buddy Holly, John Lennon, just to name a few but his impersonation of the Aussie King of Rock and Roll Johnny O'Keefe never fails to bring an audience to its feet!! Johnny was also recently nominated for a Mo Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.

Johnny promises to have you in  Rock and Roll Heaven!!!

Suzanne

My background is 21 years in office admin work covering operations, creating systems, management, finance, service and sales support if it gets done in an office I’ve probably done it at some point.

My specialty is all things organisation and systemising processes.

  • I would love to have dinner with David Grohl
  • A useless talent of mine is I’m really good at jigsaw puzzles

After spending 20 years as a safety professional in heavy industry, Suzanne decided to pivot her path in life and help others access the things that made her life flow – yoga, meditation and selfcare.

She studied her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Body Mind Life in 2017 and continued her training in 2018 under Kat Clayton - Senior Yoga Teacher and Teacher Training Lead facilitator. In mid 2018 Suzanne completed a Certificate in Meditation Teaching & Holistic Human Development through the International Meditation Teachers and Therapists Association.

After researching and loving the concept of Chair Yoga, Suzanne completed 32hrs Teaching Chair Yoga: The Sitting Mountain Series. This training is all about adapting yoga poses from the mat to the chair or with assistance from the chair. It sparked her interest in bringing yoga to EVERY BODY - beginners, people with a disability, chronic illnesses and the elderly. She ensures her classes are suitable for all ages, abilities and flexibilities.

Suzanne is currently enrolled in 300hr Advanced Integrative Yoga Teacher training which she will be completing over the next year. She is will also be completing a Diploma in Face Yoga.

Amelia H

Amelia grew up on Sydney’s leafy North Shore and performed well academically at school and University graduating with Honours. During that time, Amelia developed a passion for dance through Rock Eisteddfod. Consequently, she was selected and danced in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney Olympics Games in 2000. She has been a swimming teacher for around a decade when she revisited her love of dance during the recent lockdowns due to the pandemic. Emma invited Amelia to join her team and Amelia gratefully accepted. Emma brings a smile to many faces during her day including Amelia’s. : )
